Utah Olympic Park hosts the Nordic Combined Olympic Trial on Saturday, December 28. The Nordic Combined encompasses both individual, team and sprint competitions.
The Individual competition includes one ski jumping competition on the normal hill plus a 10 km cross-country skiing race. The Team competition includes four skiers starting from the ski jump with one jump each, then moving onward to cross-country skiing in a 4 x 5 km relay. And, the Sprint competition includes one ski jump on the large hill and a cross-country race with a 7.5 km distance.
Spots for Sochi will be on the line Dec. 28, where top contender Billy DeMong, Olympic Nordic combined champion, will have a chance to win and be nominated for the U.S. Olympic Team. The U.S. Nordic Combined Ski Team won four medals in Vancouver breathing new life into the discipline.

As part of the weekend of Nordic competition, Men's and Women's Ski Jumping Olympic Trials will be held Sunday, December 29. Women’s ski jumping will make its Olympic Trials debut with the winner becoming the first female ski jumper to qualify for the historic 2014 U.S. Olympic Team. More Info
The Road to Sochi Interactive Fan Zone will be open to the public on select days during the Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping Olympic Trials. Try out winter sports, visit with Olympic athletes and stay warm by jamming with live entertainment. Free Admission
The Nordic Festival will be held in the Basin Rec Loop area across from the Kimball Junction Visitor Center. Join local business and Nordic organizations in a community atmosphere with interactive booths, food & music. The Nordic Festival is free and open from 1:30 to 5 pm on Saturday, December 28.
